How to Apply

To apply for a dual credit class, students will need to meet the necessary student eligibility requirements and then submit the following through the ONLINE REGISTRATION FORMS provided below.

All dual credit courses offered in our campus are provided below for your references.

Please fill out the registration forms COMPLETELY including semester, course subject, catalog #, high school course, contact information, LSC or HCC student ID #, contact information, location, parent, student, and counselor signatures, etc.

Note:

  1. Please note that 8th grade students are NOT allowed to take dual credit classes over summer.
  2. Incomplete or late submissions will NOT be accepted. The deadline for both HCC and Lone Star document submission is Wednesday March 19, 2024 at 4 pm.
  3. Please make sure to submit the enrollment form for EACH DUAL CREDIT COURSES YOU WILL BE TAKING NEXT YEAR checking the document provided below. Otherwise you will NOT be taking any course you did not submit the required documents for.

Dual Credit Courses Offered at HSI-Sugar Land

DEADLINE for Form Submission: Wednesday March 19th, 2025 at 4:00 pm.

To apply for a dual credit class, students will need to meet the necessary student eligibility requirements and then submit the following to through online registration form for each community college prior to or when registering:

  1. Get approval from the high school counselor
  2. Meet all course prerequisites and minimum college readiness test scores in reading, writing, and/or math for enrolled courses
  3. Go to the ApplyTexas Website
  4. Go to the GoApplyTexas Website and use the (GoApplyTexas DC Guide) to complete the application.
  5. Upon receipt of your HCC ID number via email, submit the following forms through the HCC Dual Credit Online Registration Form for courses you will be taking next year by the deadline Wednesday March 19th, 2025 at 4:00 pm (The registration form submitted without a HCC STUDENT ID # will NOT be accepted):
      1. HCC Dual Credit Waiver Form– On the form where it asks the following information, please put the following:
        • Beginning Semester: “Fall 2025”
        • Ending Semester: “Spring 2026”
        • Academic Program: “Liberal Arts and Humanities”
        • Academic Degree: “Associates of Arts”
      2. High School Transcript
      3. College Ready TSI Test Results- You can access your TSI scores by going to https://www.accuplacer.org/ and clicking on “Information for Students” under the Student Portal. Afterwards, click on “your accuplacer or TSI2 Score Report” to enter your information. You will need your TSDS ID Number for “Student ID” and you may ask your counselor. If you have any questions, please contact your counselor
      4. Immunization Records (The immunization must have been received with in the last five years. Documentation must be in English and submitted with the HCC Meningitis Vaccination Verification Form.) and clicking on “Information for Students”
      5. HCC Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Verification Form

6. Upon submission of the Survey, your counselor will review your course requests for approval

7. If approved, a waiver will be applied to cover tuition costs and you will receive a notification to proceed with enrollment upon completion to proceed with enrollment using PeopleSoft Student

NOTE:

  • All dual credit course requests MUST be entered in Skyward by Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
  • Please use this course list to fill out your application form.
  • Please do NOT send any documents via emails. The requests that are sent by emails or handed to any school staff will NOT be considered. We will ONLY ACCEPT online submissions via Online Registration Form.
  • Any application form without parent/guardian and counselor signature will NOT be considered. Please make sure you have them before submission.
  • Please make sure you submit only 1 enrollment form for all of your courses you will be taking next year.
  • No submissions will be accepted AFTER the deadline (Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at 4 pm). It is the students’/ parents/guardians` responsibility to ensure that all required information is provided and the request forms are submitted by the deadline.

Dual Credit During Summer 

Students who choose to take dual credit during the summer break will only be allowed to take the following courses:

  • Texas Government (Govt 2306)
  • Introduction to Communication (SPCH 1318) or Public Speaking (SPCH 1315)
  • Principles of Sociology (Soci 1301)

Students who take dual credit over the summer, payment will covered by the student. Campus will not be covering payment for summer dual credit courses. Starting at the start of the 2023-2024 school year, any course that is taken off the students schedule -(including dual and online in the summer) will receive on-level (out of 4.0) grade points corresponding with the grade earned. 

How to Drop a Course

If you want to drop any course, please submit the HCC Online Drop/Withdrawal Online Request Form

DEADLINE for Form Submission: Sunday April 14th, 2024 at 4:00 pm.

Starting on Wednesday March 27th at 8 am, Lone Star Submission Form (called Formstack) will open for students to submit all of their documents: FormStack link

Deadline: Submission registration deadline from Formstack is Sunday April 14th at 4 pm.

What items will be required to be submitted in the FormStack?

These guides are created for our dual credit students to use for their course applications. ApplyTexas will be used for any students seeking admission for Fall 2024. To apply for a dual credit class, students will need to meet the necessary dual credit placement scores (DC Placement Scores – Original TSI, DC Placement Chart-New) and will need to create an ApplyTexas account (ApplyTexas DC Guide) Then submit the following to the campus admissions office prior to or when registering:

  1. Meet all course prerequisites and minimum college readiness test scores in reading, writing, and/or math for enrolled courses
  2. Go to the ApplyTexas Website and use the (ApplyTexas DC Guide) to complete the application.
  3.  Upon receiving your LSC Student ID # via email, student will fill out the Course Approval form (Both Parent and Counselor signature required)                                    A. When completing the course approval form, please use the following information based on the course(s) you will be taking next year in your schedule (please add all courses in one form if you are taking more than one dual course):
    • Class # 13056, Subject: English, Catalog #: 1301, Section # 6D10
    • Class # 00000, Subject: Math, Catalog #: 1314, Section # 6D05
    • Class # 00000, Subject: Biol, Catalog #: 2401, Section # 6D13
    • Class # 13124 , Subject: Musi, Catalog #: 1306, Section # 6D04

    B. You will need to submit your TSI Test scores into the Formstack. College Ready TSI Test Results- You can access your TSI scores by going to https://www.accuplacer.org/ and clicking on “Information for Students” under the Student Portal. Afterwards, click on “your accuplacer or TSI2 Score Report” to enter your information. You will need your TSDS ID Number for “Student ID” and you may ask your counselor. If you have any questions, please contact your counselor.

    C. Submit your high school transcript into the formstack: (you can access your transcript in your skyward folder- when you log into your skyward click on the “portfolio” folder and you will see Transcript for dual credit).

    D. TSDS ID #: You can find your TSDS ID Number on your transcript at the top of the document.

    Failure to submit your documents before the deadline of Sunday April 14th at 4 pm, will result to a schedule change to a non-dual credit course automatically for the 2024-2025 School Year.

NOTE:

  • In order for all students to take dual credit courses for next year, course request submission MUST be made by Wednesday March 6, 2024 at 4:00 pm. After the Deadline, dual credit course requests will NOT be considered.
  • The Course Approval form MUST be submitted by Sunday April 14th, 2024 at 4:00 pm.
  • Please make sure you submit only 1 enrollment form for all of your courses you will be taking for the Fall 2024, if applicable.
  • No submissions will be accepted AFTER the deadline (Sunday April 14th, 2024 at 4:00 pm).

Summer Dual Credit Registration is now available: Summer DualDeadline for Summer Dual Credit registration is Friday March 22nd at 1:30 pm.

Here are the instructions to officially enroll into summer dual:

1. First get your Lone Star ID, by submitting your application to Lone Star through ApplyTexas: ApplyTexas (if you do not have an account, create an account).

2. Once you receive your Lone Star ID, you will fill out and submit the following forms: Course ApprovalFERPA, Transcript, TSI Scores, and submit all these documents into the Summer Dual Credit Registration form: Summer Dual.

3. In your Course Approval form, you will need to state the exact courses and section you have signed up for with your counselor (form will also require counselor signature). Below is how you can find the directions on how to find the course and section:

A. Go to Lonestar.edu

B. Select search for classes

C. That will bring you to the Guest Homepage

D. Select View Classes

E. Select 2024 Summer

F. That will bring you to Class Search and Enroll

G. Enter the class information you are looking for

H. That will show you all of the classes at all of the campuses/online

I. Select the campus/online you wish to attend

J. That will show you all of the classes that is being offered.

How to Drop a Course 

Please submit the Lone Star Dual Credit Add Drop Form by filling out the following form: Lone Star Fillable DC Drop/Add Form

Counselor and Student are expected to sign the form. Counselor will share signed form to Lone Star.
